Setup

Thirty seconds.
That's the whole thing.

No app to download. No account to make. Your iPhone already has everything it needs.

  1. Hold the button for five seconds.

    It beeps once to tell you it is awake. The card arrives switched off to protect the battery, so this step is not optional — nothing else works until you do it.

  2. On your iPhone, open Find My.

    Tap Items at the bottom, then Add Other Item. Make sure Bluetooth is on.

  3. Hold the phone near the card, and give it a name.

    "Wallet". "Passport". "Zoe's backpack". Whatever you'll recognise at 6am. That's it — you're done.

Where to find it afterwards

Open the Find My app that's already on your iPhone, and tap Items at the bottom. Your Tagly is in that list. Tap it to see it on the map, or tap Play Sound to make it ring.

Charging it

Lay the card on any wireless charging pad, logo facing up. Two hours to full. Then roughly eight months before you need to think about it again — most people do it twice a year and forget in between.

If something's not right

My iPhone isn't seeing the card

Three things, in order: make sure Bluetooth is on, make sure the phone is unlocked, and make sure the card is actually switched on — hold the button five seconds until it beeps. If it's still nothing, put the card on a wireless charger for twenty minutes — it may have arrived with a flat battery after its journey — then try again.

It won't ring

Your phone has to be within Bluetooth range, roughly 300 feet with nothing in the way, to ring it. If the card is further than that, Find My will still show you where it is on the map, but it can't make it play a sound from that distance.

The map is showing an old location

That's normal, and it's how the whole thing works. Tagly has no GPS and no SIM. It updates whenever any iPhone happens to pass near it. In a busy street that's constant. In an empty car park at 3am it might be hours old.

I want to move it to a different phone

Remove the item in Find My first, then hold the button on the card for ten seconds to reset it. It'll then set up on the new phone like a new card.

Does it work on Android?

Not yet — this card uses Apple's Find My network, so it needs an iPhone or iPad. An Android version is coming. If you bought this and you're on Android, email us and we'll refund you, no argument.
